How It Works

At CIF Gold (U) Limited, we have developed a structured transaction process that promotes transparency, compliance, and confidence for both buyers and sellers. As an independent intermediary, we coordinate every stage of the transaction—from identifying a verified seller in Uganda to managing export logistics and delivery under CIF (Cost, Insurance and Freight) terms.

Our role is to simplify the international gold buying process by ensuring that communication, documentation, logistics, and regulatory procedures are professionally managed from start to finish.

Step 1 – Initial Inquiry

Every transaction begins with a consultation to understand the buyer’s requirements.

During this stage, we discuss:

  • Required quantity of gold.
  • Desired purity and specifications.
  • Preferred destination country.
  • Delivery expectations.
  • Transaction objectives.

Once these requirements are established, our team begins identifying a suitable seller capable of meeting the buyer’s needs.

Step 2 – Gold Sourcing

Using our network of verified suppliers in Uganda, we source gold that matches the buyer’s requested specifications.

Our sourcing process focuses on:

  • Quantity availability.
  • Purity requirements.
  • Seller credibility.
  • Transaction readiness.

Once a suitable seller has been identified, we begin coordinating the transaction.

Step 3 – Seller Verification

Trust is essential in international gold trading.

Before proceeding, we coordinate due diligence to verify the seller’s legitimacy and review the documentation available for the proposed transaction.

This process may include verification of:

  • Business registration.
  • Applicable licenses and permits.
  • Seller identity.
  • Supporting documentation.
  • Operational readiness.

Our objective is to facilitate transactions with credible and compliant sellers.

Step 4 – Buyer Confirmation

After the sourcing and verification process, we present the buyer with the available transaction details.

The buyer receives information relating to:

  • Gold quantity.
  • Purity specifications.
  • Origin.
  • Proposed transaction structure.
  • Expected timelines.
  • Preliminary documentation.

Once both parties agree to proceed, the transaction moves to the documentation phase.

Step 5 – Documentation & Compliance

International gold exports require careful coordination of documentation.

Our team works with the relevant parties to organize and review documentation necessary for the export process.

Depending on the transaction, this may include:

  • Commercial documentation.
  • Export documentation.
  • Shipping documentation.
  • Customs documentation.
  • Regulatory compliance records.

Throughout this stage, the buyer receives regular updates on the progress of the documentation.

Step 6 – Payment of the CIF Facilitation Fee

Before shipment arrangements begin, the buyer pays the agreed 5% CIF Facilitation Fee.

This fee covers the professional services provided by CIF Gold (U) Limited, including:

  • International freight coordination.
  • Cargo insurance arrangements.
  • Export documentation management.
  • Logistics coordination.
  • Transaction management.
  • Shipment monitoring and buyer updates.

Any additional government, regulatory, laboratory, or logistics charges applicable to the transaction are communicated transparently before they become payable.

Step 7 – Export Preparation

Once the necessary documentation has been completed and the applicable pre-shipment charges have been settled, preparations begin for export.

This stage includes coordination of:

  • Cargo preparation.
  • Secure transportation.
  • Airport handling.
  • Export processing.
  • Customs clearance.
  • Airline booking.
  • Cargo insurance.

Every shipment is prepared in accordance with applicable export requirements.

Step 8 – International Shipment

The gold is dispatched from Uganda under the agreed CIF terms.

During transit, our team coordinates with logistics providers and keeps the buyer informed through regular progress updates.

Information provided may include:

  • Shipment confirmation.
  • Air waybill details (where available).
  • Cargo movement updates.
  • Estimated arrival timelines.

Step 9 – Arrival at Destination

Upon arrival in the destination country, the shipment proceeds through the applicable import and customs procedures.

Where required by the buyer or relevant authorities, the gold may undergo:

  • Independent assay.
  • Purity verification.
  • Weight confirmation.
  • Smelting or refining.

These processes help confirm that the shipment meets the agreed contractual specifications.

Step 10 – Final Payment & Transaction Completion

The commercial value of the gold is not payable before shipment.

Under the agreed transaction structure, payment for the gold becomes due only after:

  • The shipment has arrived at the buyer’s nominated destination.
  • The agreed verification procedures have been completed.
  • The buyer confirms that the shipment meets the agreed contractual specifications.
  • The transaction proceeds in accordance with the purchase agreement between the buyer and the seller.

Once these conditions have been satisfied, the transaction is considered complete.
